We have been training apprentices since 1931 in order to employ well-trained specialist staff after they have successfully completed their vocational training.
Our continuous training rate of around 10 % shows that we are “building on you”!

With motivated trainers, most of whom are long-standing members of the respective IHK examination boards, we guarantee you attractive and high-quality training, for which we have also been awarded the “Bergischer Ausbildungspreis”.

Interview with Michelle H., 20 yrs,
in her 2nd year of training as an industrial clerk.

Dirostahl is a well-known company in the region. I also know some people who work at Dirostahl. And what they told me convinced me to apply here too. Dirostahl also responded very quickly. That showed me that the company was interested in me.

After I had sent in my application documents, I was invited to a first interview. My first impression was very positive. I received a very friendly welcome and was given some information straight away. This was followed by a recruitment test and then a debriefing. Of course, it is also particularly exciting to see what happens in the halls.

Very positive and very varied. I think it’s good that you get the impressions from the office but also get to know the operational things. So that I know what is produced here, what I request and then pass on to the outside world.

What’s more, everyone I’ve met so far has been very friendly and open. That’s why I didn’t find it difficult to get started.

In the meantime, some work colleagues have become friends with whom we sometimes meet up outside of work.

We have flexible working hours at Dirostahl. We’re supposed to be here between 6 and 9 am. I’m usually here at around 7 a.m. and the first thing I do is check my e-mails. In the beginning, my colleagues spent a lot of time explaining things to me. In the meantime, I’m already working largely independently here in Sales. At the end, I check that everything is in order before I go to the customer.

At 12 noon, the trainees meet in our ‘trainee camp’ upstairs in the kitchen and then take a break together. There are currently a total of seven trainees from the three years of training in the commercial area.

Production is very exciting. It’s impressive to see the work steps required to create the products and how perfect they look in the end.

I also immediately noticed the openness of my colleagues. There is a very pleasant working atmosphere. You are appreciated. I helped with a project in Purchasing and received immediate recognition for what I did.

You should definitely show interest. Then you will be taken along and really involved. So also ask questions, especially if you don’t understand everything at the beginning.

And simply take a relaxed and unbiased approach every day, then it’s especially fun.
